Combine passive and active load pull techniques for cost-effective multi-harmonic impedance matching
Load pull measurements are used to study the response of a device-under test (DUT) under multiple source and load impedances.
Passive load pull measurements utilize a mechanical tuner to vary the impedance seen by the DUT whereas active load pull uses an external source to inject a signal into the output of the DUT to emulate a reflected signal.
Hybrid load pull uses a combination of these techniques. A mechanical tuner is used to handle the high power levels at the fundamental frequency while a signal source is used for the lower power harmonic frequencies.
